An example of how we have integrated the technology is to extend the Houndit delivery system with the  ability to locate a stillage, cage or tote to within 6 inches in your warehouse. This is ideally suited to fast moving cross dock operations where traditional warehousing is not viable or where storage space is tight, requiring dynamic location of items to allow flexible storage.

Unlike RFID systems where reader coverage is short range and inaccurate the Ubisense system can cover an area of 100x100 meters with 4 sensors. This means that not only can items be located instantly but it eliminates the requirement for specifically dedicated racking space thereby making optimum utilisation of the storage space available and eliminating unproductive ideal shelving. In our experience, the distruption of cable installation is often an obstacle to the deployment of a traditional RFID solution into an existing operation; this barrier is removed by the Skillweb/Ubisense solution which operates cable-free.
